Student opportunities and activities
At Emu Plains Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Clubs
This year, club sessions are running on Tuesdays after lunch, and we are pleased to welcome Nepean High School students who will support our 3-6 dance club participants.

Little Wizards' Lab
Miss Haverfield (K-2)
Students develop scientific curiosity by mixing potions, creating colourful reactions, and experimenting in a hands-on environment.
Mindfulness Club
Ms Gallagher (K-2)
Children learn relaxation techniques through yoga, mindful breathing, and colouring, encouraging balance and emotional wellbeing.
K-2 Cooking Club
Mrs Hansen (K-2)
Students practise kitchen skills and teamwork as they prepare simple, tasty foods in a fun and safe setting.
Art Club

Students experiment with painting and drawing, building confidence and creativity through weekly art activities.
Code Explorers

Children use BeeBots and interactive games to explore basic coding concepts and problem-solving skills.
KM Club

Students are encouraged to keep active by tracking their kilometres, setting goals, and enjoying running or walking with their peers.
Puzzle Club

Children collaborate to solve large floor puzzles and jigsaws, developing teamwork and critical thinking.
Environmental Heroes

Students learn about nature by planting, watering, and caring for the environment, fostering environmental awareness.
The Smile Club

Children practise kindness and empathy through visits to local preschools and nursing homes, sharing cards, songs, and smiles.
Cosy Craft Corner
Miss Blissett (3-6)
A calm craft space where students create items like bracelets, magnets, and clay figures, supporting creativity and relaxation.
Sports History

Students explore the origins and important moments of sports teams and players, while developing research and storytelling skills.
Word Game Club

Children improve their vocabulary and critical thinking by participating in word-based games in a supportive group setting.
Canva Club
Mrs Gillon (1-6)
Students learn digital design skills by creating posters and graphics using Canva, supporting creativity and technology proficiency.

Camps & Excursions
These activities provide valuable opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom in a fun and engaging environment. They help develop social skills, teamwork, and independence while allowing students to explore new places and experiences related to their curriculum.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics is a fun and engaging way for children to develop their physical skills, including balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Through a variety of activities and exercises, students build confidence and body awareness while improving their motor skills.
Swim School
Swim school teaches students essential water safety skills and swimming techniques. Through regular lessons, students build confidence and competence in the water, helping to prevent accidents and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
